Download and Save Images in Google Chrome for iPhone, iPad

New to Google Chrome on iPhone and iPad? Here’s how you can download and save images using your device’s web browser.

Learn How to Save Image Using Google Chrome Web Browser on iPhone and iPad

Saving photos and images using Google Chrome is quite easy on the iPhone and iPad. If you’re new to Apple’s platform but have decided to use Google Chrome as your browser of choice, we’ll show you how you can download and save images directly to your device in a few simple steps.

Step 1. First of all, launch Google Chrome on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 2. Open the URL from where you want to save the image to your device.

Step 3. Press and hold on the image.

Step 4. Now press save picture.

Step 5. If you are saving an image using Chrome for the first time, you need to grant it permission to access your Photos app where the image will be saved. You will see a dialog like the one shown below. Just press Okay.

That’s all. Your image has now been saved to your iPhone and iPad in the Photos app. If you just want to copy an image and paste it somewhere else, just choose Copy the image to step 4. Once copied, the image will live on the clipboard until you decide to paste it somewhere and resend it.

It’s extremely important that you allow Chrome to access the Photos app, otherwise the bowser won’t be able to save anything locally. But, if you’re one of the paranoid ones who thinks Chrome could magically lift your entire Photos library into the background, you can always disable access to the Photos app whenever you want. You can do this by going to Settings > Privacy > Photos > Chrome then select Any as shown in the screenshot below.

But, rest assured, given the strict security measures of Apple’s App Store, someone won’t just “hack” your photos.
