Download iOS 16 Beta, iPadOS, watchOS 9 without developer account
You can download iOS 16 beta, iPadOS 16 beta and watchOS 9 beta for free on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch.
Want to test iOS 16, iPadOS 16 or watchOS 9 Beta for free? You can do it, but it comes with risks
In case you haven’t noticed, iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and watchOS 9 beta are now available for download. It is for developers only and the public beta will be available shortly. If you want to test the new software on your compatible iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you need to pay Apple $99 and sign up for the Apple Developer Program.
Once registered and logged in, you can go to Develop > Downloads to download updates directly to your device and try them out. All you need to do is enter the iOS/iPadOS/watchOS configuration profile. There is nothing more. In short, even if you are not a developer and enter the profile, you can go ahead and download updates directly to your device.
The problem here is simple – it’s a method that Apple doesn’t endorse. There are a lot of things that can go wrong here. And, if you’re looking for a personal opinion, I highly recommend waiting for the public betas of the iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and watchOS 9 updates to arrive instead. It is a legitimate method of downloading and trying software.
Whichever route you take, it’s extremely important to back everything up to a safe and secure location using iTunes, Finder, or iCloud. In the event of a problem, it is important that you have a backup of everything that you can come back to.
Again, it’s about getting your hands on the configuration profile that you can get from a handful of sources. We strongly recommend that you wait for the public beta to arrive, otherwise you may end up with a bunch of problems with your device. Follow the steps below if you get the configuration profile somewhere:
- Download the profile to your iPhone and iPad.
- Allow profile installation. You may need to restart your iPhone and iPad, please do so.
- Launch Settings then go to General > Software Update.
- The new beta version of iOS 16, iPadOS 16 will appear here. Press on Download and install.
Finally, if you don’t like iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 beta for some reason, you can also downgrade to iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. With watchOS updates, you don’t have that choice at all. It is important that you understand what you are getting into.
