How to Download Samsung TV Apps

If you have one of the best Samsung TVs, know that you are not limited to the selection of default apps displayed on the dashboard when you turn on your smart TV. In fact, there’s a huge range of apps available on Samsung smart TVs, and you can install them all with just a bit of navigating with your remote.

And with the South Korean brand currently readying its 2022 lineup of Samsung TVs, it’s good to know how to install and manage new apps, especially if you’re planning on buying a brand new Samsung TV this year.

So if you fancy a change from the usual selection of the best streaming services like Netflix, Disney Plus and Apple TV Plus, read on to find out how you can increase your Samsung TV’s directory of installed apps, ensuring to always have something to watch. when you feel like the Netflix well has run dry.

The initial setup

Before you can install new apps on your Samsung Smart TV, you must first ensure that the TV is connected to the Internet. To do this, open your TV’s settings menu, then go to Network. Then open network settings and follow the steps to choose your home router.

Choose your router, enter the password (usually located on the router itself or on a card provided in the router’s packaging) and wait for the TV to connect to the Internet. Once done, you will be ready to install apps immediately.

How to Install Apps on Your Samsung Smart TV

First, press the Smart Hub or Guide button on your Samsung TV remote. The location of this button varies depending on your TV remote, but if you have a Samsung Smart TV, either option will bring up the Smart Hub Dashboard.

Next, use the arrows on your remote to navigate to the Applications option and select it. You’ll be taken to your Samsung TV’s app hub, where you’ll want to go whenever you want to download and install new apps.

There are two main ways to search for new apps on your Samsung smart TVs. You can either navigate the app hub through the submenus provided. There are options to display different app genres, as well as app types (music or entertainment, for example) and an Editor’s Choice section that highlights popular apps you might be interested in.

You can also manually search for apps by highlighting the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen. This will allow you to enter the name of an application to be immediately redirected to its page.

You will find that many apps are already installed on your Samsung TV, and these will be highlighted with an “Installed” label on the app. If not, you will need to install the app in order to view its content.

To do this, simply select the application you are interested in and from the next menu select “Install”. Then you just have to wait for the app to install on your TV. Wait times vary depending on the file size of the app and the download speed of your internet connection, but in most cases it shouldn’t take too long as app sizes tend to be quite small.

Once your app is installed, a notification will appear on your smart TV. Then you can choose to open the app right there or add it to your home screen, making it easily accessible anytime from your Smart Hub’s home menu.
